In recent years, WW (formerly WeightWatchers) has moved from focusing on food tracking toward a more holistic approach to weight loss and management. It now considers all aspects of a person’s life, from diet and exercise to sleep and their unique biology.

It has also expanded into offering GLP-1 medication to aid weight loss in eligible people.

Read on to learn about what WW Clinic offers and what people are saying about the service.

WW Clinic combines WW’s basic membership plan with access to GLP-1 medication. This means you’ll follow WW’s well-known coaching and Points system and work with a WW clinician to manage a weight loss medication plan.

WW added WW Clinic to its membership options when it acquired Sequence, an existing digital weight management platform, in 2023. Sequence connected users with healthcare professionals who could prescribe Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-approved GLP-1 medication for weight loss. The service also helped users work with insurance companies.

Sequence now offers this service under WW.

With WW Clinic, you will work with a WW clinician throughout your weight loss journey. They will prescribe you GLP-1 or another medication if they think it is safe and appropriate for your weight management goals and if you are eligible.

They may also prescribe generic alternatives if GLP-1s aren’t suitable for you or are unavailable.

Due to their popularity, GLP-1 medications can sometimes be in short supply. At present, WW doesn’t offer compounded medications to navigate this issue.

The type of medication you’ll get depends on your preferences, medical history, current health, and your health insurance coverage. You can work closely with your WW clinician throughout your weight loss journey.

WW Clinic currently offers the following GLP-1 medications:

  • Mounjaro (tirzepatide)
  • Zepbound (tirzepatide)
  • Zepbound vials (tirzepatide)
  • Saxenda (liraglutide)
  • Ozempic (semaglutide)
  • Trulicity (dulaglutide)
  • Rybelsus (semaglutide)
  • Victoza (liraglutide)
  • Wegovy (semaglutide)

You must be eligible for GLP-1 drugs to get a prescription. Doctors may prescribe them for weight loss if you have a body mass index (BMI) of 30 or higher or a BMI of 27 or higher with one weight-related health condition.

Non-GLP-1 drugs available through WW Clinic include metformin, naltrexone, or bupropion. A doctor may prescribe these if GLP-1 medications aren’t appropriate for you or are unavailable.

Your initial WW Clinic consultation will be free. During this consultation, you’ll learn more about WW Clinic and decide if it is the right fit for your lifestyle and weight loss goals.

If you choose to sign up, you’ll pay $49 for your first month. You’ll then choose from monthly plans based on the time commitment you’re willing to make. These plans are:

  • Monthly rolling membership: $149 per month. This is the most flexible option as it doesn’t involve any long-term commitment.
  • 3-month commitment: $99 per month.
  • 6-month commitment: $84 per month.
  • 12-month commitment: $74 per month.

Currently, if you sign up for a 12-month commitment plan, your first introductory month is $25 instead of $49. After the first month, the 12-month plan costs $74 per month.

You will be charged monthly for the duration of your commitment plan, even if you don’t find the service useful. WW doesn’t offer refunds for early cancellations, so take time to think about whether WW is right for you before signing up.

Your membership will automatically renew at the end of your commitment period.

Many complaints are about being locked into monthly payments for the duration of the commitment plan’s period, even if customers stop using the service.

Certain complaints raise concerns about unclear pricing, and some customers have found that the cost of GLP-1 medication on top of the membership fee makes the service unaffordable.

Other customers write about WW Clinic’s inability to provide GLP-1 medication due to drug shortages and problems with customer service.

To sign up for WW Clinic, you’ll need to fill out an online questionnaire. You input your current weight, height, sex assigned at birth, and your state. You will also need to provide some information on your weight loss goals and what you have tried in the past.

To check whether WW Clinic is right for you, the questionnaire also includes questions about pregnancy and breastfeeding, mental health, and any previous diagnoses that may affect how appropriate GLP-1 medication is for you.

You’ll then have your initial consultation with a WW doctor. WW states that these doctors are obesity specialists and will be able to recommend appropriate treatment plans to suit your health goals.

If you decide to pursue a WW membership, your WW doctor will create a care plan that may include weight loss medication.

You’ll then have regular check-ins with WW staff, including registered dietitians and fitness coaches.

WW states that your results may vary depending on the medication you try. It claims that people typically lose 10% to 20% of their weight with support from a GLP-1.

A 2025 review of scientific studies showed that GLP-1 medication can lead to significant reductions in weight, BMI, and waist circumference. The review included 47 randomized controlled studies with over 23,000 participants with overweight or obesity, some of whom also had diabetes.

The authors reviewed how much weight, BMI, and waist size dropped with GLP-1 medication. On average, participants lost around 4.6 kilograms (kg) more weight than those using a placebo, and BMI dropped by around 2 points. Waist circumference also reduced by around 4.6 centimeters (cm).

According to this review, GLP-1 medication seemed most beneficial to the following groups:

  • those higher starting weight and BMI
  • those without diabetes
  • younger females
  • people who used GLP-1s for longer durations

A study funded by WW but carried out by independent research teams found that after 3 months, people following a WW program lost an average of 3.8 kg compared to those on a “do it yourself” weight loss plan, who lost around 1.8 kg.

Overall, more research is needed to dig deep into how effective WW is for weight loss. Research into GLP-1s is developing, with new information on their efficacy, side effects, and safety being published regularly.
